How did I get here?
Hello out there, I'm so very pleased to make your acquaintance. This website was a gift from my very thoughtful other half a few Christmases back. I've been scribbling ideas and writing little rhymes, songs, stories, comedy sketches and mini plays for a long while and this gift has given me somewhere to share them. Send my words out into the big wide internet world and give them a taste of independence.
Words are amazing. They can open up new imaginary worlds, reflect the harsh realities of the one we live in, provide an escape from mundanity, hurt us or help us, reveal the mysteries of humanity and ask questions we may never find the answers to. What I'd like for my own words is that they hold your imagination for a moment and take you somewhere new.

Somewhere in rural Northumberland there’s a village called Mould-on-the-Wall. Somewhere in this village you’ll find a street that convicts once walked down as they made their way to their deaths. Today it’s a street like any other, and like any other street… Doomgate has its secrets.
Join us as we jump house to house and pull back the curtain to shed light on the darkness within, with tales that explore what happens when you let an over-eager door-to-door salesman into your home, the true cost of giving a friend your kidney and why a middle-aged man can’t leave his train set alone…
That’s not to mention all of that business going on at number twelve…
This anthology of darkly comic plays, brought to you by Carpet Time Productions (Hannah Sowerby, Jamie McLeish and Lynne Patrick), consists of funny and sometimes horrific twist-in-the-tale stories that will have you right on the edge of your seat.
We will visit eight houses on the street, all with very different stories to tell, in this voyeuristic look at what goes on behind closed doors in ‘ordinary’ houses; it will be both thrilling and intimate. It’s not for the faint hearted, but if you love a bit of dark comedy, then these tales of the uninvited will be right up your street (pun very much intended).
